I was talking about this earlier with an acquaintance and she considers hardcovers fragile and paperbacks she can just throw in her bag without really worrying about it. With me, I’m always worried my paperbacks will tear to the point where I don’t let anyone else read it. If I can, I try to get the hardcover of the books I know I’ll reread a lot so it lasts longer. Now I’m wondering what other people think.

Your on a desert island awaiting rescue and you can only bring three books but they MUST have a cover with the mainly primary colors (Red, Yellow, or Blue)
Which books and Why?
Here are my picks:
❤️ - Kaikeyi by Vaishnavi Patel 💙 - The Survivor Wants to Die At The End by Adam Silvera 💛 - Yellowface. by R.F Kuang
I chose these ones because they've been on my TBR forever maybe if I get stranded on an island I'll finally get to them !

I feel like the synopsis threw my expectations off. The focus was on the trials but the book itself spent more time dealing with the plague that only got a small mention in the synopsis. Aside from that, I found the plot twists to be predictable. The saving grace was that I thought the characters were interesting and I enjoyed their interactions. I liked that Kiva is a healer. A lot of YA books tend to have leads that either know how to fight or end up learning how so it was nice to have something different. I am interested to see how the story continues but it’s not a priority.
