This book tells a story about a woman named Jodie, who always dreams of becoming the perfect housewife. She met Roy, a charming and successful psychologist. They live together in Beverly Hills, in a big house and they also have a maid named Marie. It seems like a perfect fairy tale, right? But don't get me wrong, those dream is just temporary. Roy have been married before and his wife passed away so sudden, it made his ex-wife's presence lingers so strongly in that house.

Above is a short synopsis of The Housewife, a book written by Natalie Barelli. I will only give you a brief story because you definitely MUST read this book! This is the second book of Natalie that I've read (first one is Finders Keepers), and I fall in love harder with this book than the previous one. This book is written from Jodie's POV and somehow I love her peculiar and complex behaviour (and she loves to cook!). Yes, you can't believe her 100% yet she gives this heroine attitude and you want to side with her.

There are many characters involved in this book, and I think that's one of the reason why it's hard to guess the ending and who is wrong. Natalie writes this book so brilliantly, with many twists, secrets, and psychological tension. Plus, each chapter is so short and fast-paced; with shocking reveals at almost each chapter, makes it harder to put down this book. It's so captivating that you can finish reading it in one sitting.

If you enjoy reading thriller with fast-paced, short chapter, and suspense that make you always guessing, then this book is for you!
