I need to read a modern retelling of this book immediately. :)
Genuinely shocked by how much I enjoyed this, lol. Albeit a little frustrated with my girl Laura right at the end, but I feel like this is definitely a case where you can (and probably should tbh) blame the author and the time period for the issues of the story 😅

This is definitely one of the more digestible classics I've ever read. I'm genuinely surprised lol, I don't know why I was expecting to struggle with it

(1) I have a degree in English, but I haven't read a single classic in about 5 years. (2) I feel like I haven't truly, thoroughly enjoyed anything I've read in a long time. And (3) I also have a startling lack of sapphic books on my shelves.
So I figured starting this would be the perfect way to rectify all these issues :)

Yes! I've finally reached the numbered pages. It's taken me a week and a half an I can finally start recording my progress. That's one beefy introduction section.
