what it says on the tin! queer short story collections (including novels broken into standalone short stories) with a speculative bent; tinges of horror, fantasy, sci-fi, dystopia and the otherwise spiritual. attempting to keep the list quite curated, but recommendations are always welcome!

Ooo! Adam McOmber's My House Gathers Desires & This New and Poisonous Air would fit!
Also, David Demchuk's The Bone Mother.

wonderful! thank you for these recommendations, iāll check them out!
Saving this one!!
What a great list!! Another one that comes to mind is Reclaim the Stars: 17 tales across realms and space. I donāt think itās explicitly queer, but the majority of the stories so far (Iām about halfway through) feature queer/trans main characters.

ooh incredible! iād definitely consider that explicitly queer - i donāt think queerness needs to be a focal point for the representation to be legitimate/enriching! iāll look into it for sure
this list looks epic! especially my contributions but also yours

babe you suggested one book that was already on my radar ⦠itās always a white woman trying to claim ownership š
Book Recc: Paradise Rot by Jenny Hval

as far as i know paradise rot isnāt a short story collection? i may be wrong?
It is a novella, and it's short enough that I include it in my 'short story' categorization, but that probably doesn't fit every readers definition š hope you check it out all the same!

iāll check it out, but for clarification this list is for collections of short stories i.e. at least three short stories/novellas within the same book! <33
no, paradise rot is a novella!
