Classic books by U.S. BIPOC/fem/LGBTQIA Authors. Inspired by my post in US classic lit quest, I wanted a place to share all the wonderful recommendations by the PB community from the forum! 'Classic' refers to enduring, high-quality works that have stood the test of time, featuring universal themes, memorable characters, and artistic merit that remain relevant and insightful about the human condition across generations, often studied for their cultural significance and literary excellence.

Hi everyone! This is a placeholder list to reference a collection of books that PB users provided in the forum of the main US classic quest! Not to take over or limit engagement there, but just to maybe supplement until they are added to the quest (or if they don't make it on) you can still look here for some other books that will help round out and diversify your readings! There are already some amazing lists curated by other users on PB and when I have the chance I'll also link them here!
(Disclaimer: I have not read these all, but I did look many of them up to determine if and how I felt they meet the criteria listed in the classic post- if you have any opinions or insight please comment below so I can learn more, or discuss further! Please feel free to also recommend other writings)
this is lovely, thank you for compiling it!
saved! thank you!
