I realized after I posted that not all boyfriends are cut from the same cloth. I chose books that strongly relate to standard masculine themes and don't strongly challenge the notion of masculinity. Not to say these books are sexist, I wouldn't ever rec a book promoting sexism. Also, these books all feature action and intrigue over character and life studies.
