If you don't mind middle grade, I can say that this series definitely changed my life as a child. I remember the world building being incredible, it felt like I was along for the ride with the gang on their quest!

From my childhood bookshelf I offer Emmy and the Incredible Shrinking Rat by Lynne Jonell. Hated that book but the rat on the cover art is adorable
