I used to want to be a marine biologist when I was little.
I also have, I wouldn't call it a full on phobia, but I definitely have an aversion to open, deep water.
But underwater? Totally different, and idk why.
Also, the way you phrased that gave me a good laugh, hehe.
i have such an intense fear that i can't even swim in Minecraft đ©đ© i do love our ocean creatures and habitats but i'd rather not look at them LOLL
i read Our Wives Under the Sea last year and absolutely loved it, though only half of it takes place underwater. i'm still deathly afraid of the ocean and large bodies of water but i was like hmmm... maybe i can handle this?
i don't know if i'm strong enough to try any of these but maybe one day when i'm feeling brave i'll dive in (teehee)

I'd say it's definitely easier to read than to watch, imo. At least with reading you can mostly push the mental image out.
omg I thought I was weird for not being able to dive in games like Minecraft or even play games like Subnautica and barely getting through Bioshock đ thank you for making me feel seen
I've never read a book that takes place underwater though...so maybe this could work đ thank you for this list, @Tobi2x4!!
I'm not sure if The Water Babies by Charles Kingsley counts? Also sounds like a cool list, I don't tend to read books that are set underwater, so this seems like a good introduction to that!
