Oh my god how embarrassing lol, I didn’t look at the authors while scrolling😅 I saw you have another list with French titles, I should’ve guessed. I love it but I’ve always wondered whether the English translation holds up against the original, have you read both?

I’ve only read the French version, I feel like it’s a pretty easy one to translate and not much should be lost in translation but I haven’t checked it out for myself yet!
I'm hoping that's the case, I thought it was interesting the main character herself was a translator and loved how that impacted the narrative, so maybe that helped the continuity as well!
Fabulous list, I too love it when women are allowed to be nuts. I must recommend Victorian Psycho by Virginia Feito as an addition, the MC is all unhinged slasher nightmare in a frock.
Yes! I’ve been in the mood for violent women with no care in the world. If you’re taking suggestions, As Many Souls as Stars by Natasha Siegel is great. Meriam yearns and waits in her crazy for centuries.
