Books with adaptations that differ quite a bit from the source material.
I personally really enjoying watching adaptations, even when they fail the original (and especially when they end up elevating it).
Modern adaptations of classics go in the list and so do movies that change big plot points or characters. Movies that had to cut down certain elements because of the change of media are not included. Open to suggestions!

My sister's keeper by Jodi Picoult would be another one, where they completely changed the ending..
I haven't read it yet but I think I have heard it people complain ahah adding it!
Yes I find that Jodi Picoult's books, or her earlier work anyway, have endings which are perfect for the book, but I could see why they wouldn't translate to the screen (particularly if they're not that happy ending everyone wants)
Makes sense, I think hollywood believes there is a market for sad endings, but only if they fit a specific template and do not engage with complex topics
