Reverse Harem Hidden Gems

We set out in search of hidden gems in why choose fantasy/paranormal romance novels!!

Rules? We are choosing books with less than 5 forum posts (0 would be perfect) to fill out those empty forums a little šŸ¤—

We’re reading the Season of the Witch series next! (July 20th - August 31st) After that will be The Lost Coven duet

Season of the Witch is coming!

Next in line is the series Season of the Witch by Emberly Wyndham✨

"A cozy witch romance series for readers who want all the cottagecore witchy vibes with low stakes and low stress. Each book guarantees a short, spicy romance with an HEA and a new love interest added with every novella."

(I think the first two books are around 150 pages and the last two are a bit over 300)

If anyone is interested in reading it together, we start on July 20th šŸ’– (and the buddy read will last until the end of August)

Hey guys!! I’m really happy you wanted to join!! šŸ’– In the end I decided it would be cool to create a list (I hope that you agree šŸ‘‰šŸ¼šŸ‘ˆšŸ¼)

I was hoping to add a recommendation from each one of you! I added @TheNotoriousHBG rec - Season of the Witch quartet by Emberly Wyndham @antari.reads recommended author K.A. Knight so I chose The Lost Coven (is that ok? I saw a lot of longer series so I wanted to choose something shorter for now šŸ˜†)

As for the order in which we’ll be reading - I hope you don’t mind starting with The Deadwood Series, then I was thinking about reading something @sarawithbooks will recommend? (since you were the first one to respond to my post šŸ«¶šŸ¼) After that we could go with the Season of the Witch and The Lost Coven?

If you have something to add or a better idea for the list name let me know! šŸ¤—

Edit: Here’s my post where I came up with the idea for this listšŸ’–

I vote for Velvet Cruelty, Three Ring Heat and Beneath Dark Skies but I don’t want to decide on my own šŸ˜† Something like Voices in the Dark could be great too as a shorter read 😊

I’ve read The Omega Merger already and gave it 4āļø so I can recommend 🤭

3

Those sound very interesting I agree. Omega Merger keeps coming up for me and I definitely need to read it soon

2

The ā€œswitchā€ concept is fun and fresh 😁 I’ve read one other book in this series (book 4) and I remember liking it too but unfortunately got bored around 75% and dnf’ed it šŸ™ˆ

2

I knew you wouldn't disappoint!!🤩 I'll check them all thank you🧔

3

This is great, thank you! I have no suitable recs at the moment so I'll probably steal something from @Babygotbooks list🤭

3

Sure! 😊

2

Hey! Did you choose something? šŸ˜šŸ¤ I was thinking about making a post what we’re going to read next some time soon to let people know in advance šŸ˜šŸ’–

2

Ooooh yes! Sorry, these days are flying by too fast. I'll look up something, give me a couple hoursšŸ˜‰

2

Sure, no worries! 😌 I totally understand, I feel like the beginning of April was just few days ago 😭😭🤣

2

Right?!? I always feel like january and february are endless and then march/april come by and everything becomes an unstoppable whirlwind of things and then it's suddenly July and I'm left wondering wtf happened???

2

bella

2

Sooo maybe we can go with Beneath Dark Skies? I've never read books with zombies in it so it might be interesting!!

2

Same here! I’m already exited for something new and different! 🤭 it’s gonna be interesting

2

Can’t wait to start reading Traitor Witch! 🤭

exited

Are you ready too? 😁

4

Here we go!

3

Yessss!šŸ’ƒšŸ’ƒ

3

Immediately saving. I just bought The Fifth Nicnevin series, but I’ve been meaning to try Marie Mistry so maybe I’ll swap to the Deadwood series!

2

Marie Mistry is easily becoming one of my favorite authors and that’s why I recommend we read the Deadwood series first! I’m rereading Liminal right now and I’m as obsessed as I was reading it for the first time (can’t wait to get to the second book 🤭) I was reading The Fifth Nicnevin series last year and I feel in love with it too! šŸ˜†šŸ’– Unfortunately life happened and I didn’t finish it yet (got to 70% of the 4th book) but I hope I’ll be able to reread and finish it soon šŸ¤—

2

I’m so excited. I’m in. I’m going to see where I can checkout/buy the Deadwood series so I can read along. I missed your original post but I’m an RH lover so I’ll follow along!

2

yay

2

This has been so much fun! I get kind of nervous to post in the forums normally but feeling like we’re starting the convo feels good! I’m almost done with Pirate Witch and I’m getting kind of sad, lol! I’ve read faster than normal though since my kid has been home sick this week so there’s been lots of couch time. It will normally take me a little longer to read a trilogy šŸ˜„.

2

I’m somewhere at the beginning of book three but I still need to take some time to organize my thoughts and notes from book two šŸ˜† It’s much more fun when you know someone for sure will see your thoughts and there’s a high chance they’ll reply 😁 You can let me know when you’ll want to start The Fifth Nicnevin series and maybe if I’ll be able to at the time I’ll join 😁 (I recommended this series to few people on pb and when they were posting on the forum I was super happy but also frustrated since I wasn’t always able to respond bc I forgot a lot šŸ˜šŸ™ˆ)

P.S. I hope your kid feels better 😊

3

I didn’t realize you couldn’t post in the forum at percentages after marking the book as finished 😩. I went through Pirate Witch so fast and was taking notes in my notes app. I posted my final note though šŸ˜…. Forum newbie I guess!

I’ll definitely do The Fifth Nicnevin. I bought it on audio and that helps slow me down a little!

2

I was there too!! šŸ˜†

Oh, really? I normally tend to get through audiobooks faster bc I listen to them on at least 1.5 speed šŸ˜‚

2

It was so fast paced with tons of important scenes to get to. I couldn’t pause.

I listen at 1.5 speed but I can read text super fast šŸ˜…. With audio books I find myself reading 200-300 ā€œpagesā€ a day. With ebooks more like 400-500. I’ve been tracking pages on Storygraph to help me figure this out. Some days I go into a reading hole and do like 600-1000 but that’s just disassociation šŸ™ƒ and only happens once or twice a month. Or when reading angsty cliffhangery Omegaverse or Cowboy Colony Mail Order Brides 🫣.

2

Wow! 🤩 I’m a pretty slow reader šŸ˜…. It’s probably because of my ADHD (I need to frequently reread sentences for example šŸ˜®ā€šŸ’Ø). Maybe I would read faster in my native language šŸ«£šŸ˜† I guess I can try tracking on Storygraph too 😁

2

Ummm excuse me you are a reading superhero in my view! You just read that trilogy so fast and it wasn’t even in your native language???? ā˜ ļø. The only other language I can read in is Spanish and I’m way way slower in it!

I do like Storygraph for the info it provides! It was helpful for me to see it that way and give myself some more realistic goals.

I just downloaded an audio and an ebook in Spanish so I could test myself. I immediately had to turn the audio speed down to 1 šŸ˜‚.

2

You just need to get used to it šŸ˜‰šŸ’–

2

Thank you! šŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ¼

That’s a really good idea, it could help me a lot too with setting my goals 😁. My only issue is that entering data there every time I read something seems like a lot of additional work šŸ˜…šŸ˜‚

2

Everytime i see you, I feel so bad that I wasn't able to participate in the previous readalong after saying that I would and this second readalong is also overlapping with my exams. šŸ™‚

2

You don’t need to feel bad, I understand! šŸ„¹šŸ«¶šŸ¼ Good luck with your exams and I hope next time you’ll be able to join! šŸ’–šŸ¤—

2

Thank you. Hopefully I'll get to join the third readalong. šŸ™‚

2

Omg that is such a nice concept!

2

Thank you! šŸ’–

2

A little reminder that the readalong starts today!! šŸ’–

Hello everyone! It's time to start our readalong of Rolling Hills Ranch duet by S.A. Ashburne šŸ¤—

The first part of this story set in a zombie apocalypse is Beneath Dark Skies šŸ§Ÿā€ā™€ļø

The readalong will last for over a month (May 22 - Jun 30, 2026) There’s no pressure to start right away, you can join whenever best suits you šŸ«¶šŸ¼

let’s read

2

Oop, it seems i've stumbled upon something interesting hehehe. I have a rec, but there are 15 posts in the forum, but they are from 2 people (me and my buddy reader) would you like it still or does it not fit ?

1

Thank you so much but the idea was to choose books with empty forum posts and read some of them together so it wouldn’t feel so lonely writing there alone with no one to discuss (since those books aren’t so popular). Just like you and your buddy reader did! šŸ¤šŸ’–

I intend to add to the list only books we decided on reading together šŸ¤— (at least for now I’m gonna stick to it since this was the original idea)

You are welcome to join us if you’d like to buddy read with more people 😊 Here’s my old post where I first came up with the idea if you’d be interested šŸ’–

2

Oh okay that makes sense ^^ I would love to join as I love the trope, but I feel I already have too much planned right now 😭 but I'm definitely saving this for the recs, and if I find the time I'll try to hop in on 1 or 2 of the buddy reads !

2

Yay! šŸ™ŒšŸ¼ I was thinking about starting the next buddy read sometime after May 20th 😁 I have a lot of reads planned too but I tend to not stick to my plans šŸ¤£šŸ™ˆ

2

haha, currently I'm in the midst of moving, so I really don't have time, but around mid june, I'll try to hop on whichever one you have going on ^^

2

Sure! šŸ’– Good luck with the move then! 😊

2

Thanks ! 🫶

1

Hi here are my recs, rated 5āļø by me. I think they fit here. Baneful Magick by Suki Rose Curse and Keys by Stella Brie Lightbringer by Evelyn Flood

1

Omg! They seem to be really interesting, thank you! 😊

The idea for this list was to read those books together as buddy read and I wanted to put on the list only the books that we’ll decide on reading šŸ™ˆ If you’d like to join us and would like to read them again together with us then sure, I’ll add it but maybe you’d prefer something different then as your pick? 😁

(I put your recs on my shelf since they seem cool and maybe someone here will also be interested šŸ’–)

1

Oh my bad. I’m happy to buddy read. Always ready for more recsšŸ‘ My preference is fantasy RH but willing branch into contemporary. Can’t wait for the listšŸ“š

Announcing Next Series In Our Why Choose Unofficial Readalong 🤭 (plus some additional info)

Hi everyone! I’m excited to announce that we will be reading the Rolling Hills Ranch duet by S.A. Ashburne next! (Part one is Beneath Dark Skies) It’s @sarawithbooks’ pick from @Babygotbooks’ list 😁

The story is set in a zombie apocalypse! šŸ§Ÿā€ā™€ļøšŸ§ŸšŸ§Ÿā€ā™‚ļø

Our mini readalong will run from May 22nd - June 30th (2026) I think it was a slight mistake on my part last time to only add starting date šŸ™ˆ With a time window there will be no pressure to start right away and people can hop in whenever they want (and read at their own pace)😊

On May 22nd I will try to post a little reminder šŸ¤šŸ’–

Before then you can check out (if you haven’t already) the previous series we have read - The Deadwood by Marie Mistry. I think we can count it as a hidden gem šŸ’Ž

Next on the list are series Season of the Witch and The Lost Coven. After that I think it would be best to vote for what are we going to read 😊 (but it’s still far in the future šŸ˜†)

Can’t wait to see you all in the forums! šŸ’–
