holy shit i just remembered when i was at the conservatory we worked on and performed a scene from a play called "Swimming in the Shallows" in which the mc falls in love with a Mako shark. the scene was basically when mc tells his friend group about his new love interest, and i played one of the friends. well the way we blocked it i was sitting quite close to the audience downstage, and the director thought it would be funny if i was in the middle of reading a romance novel with an obvious shark on the cover, and of course it was up to me to source the book!!!!! so one of my classmates and i spent the weekend scouring the thrift stores and flea markets of NYC for a book that would fit the bill, but once we found one i was too embarrassed to buy it so i made him check out for me 🤣🤣🦈 damn that was 15 years ago now, thank u for unlocking this extremely specific memory for me lmaooo
