spelunking

grab your flashlight and some extra rope, because we’re going underground!

a collection of books at least partly set in caves

i have a very heavy experiential bias towards classics/lit fic, let me know what i’m missing outside those genres!

Yessss Blue Lily, Lily Blue! A sci-fi horror you’re missing is The Luminous Dead by Caitlin Starling. Oh! And Into the Sublime by Kate A. Boorman (YA horror)

hehe i love stiefvater's writing so much! her characters have almost as much depth as the caves they wind up in 😋 sci fi horror with caves?? sounds so cool!! i'll add both to the list, thank you for sharing :)

love to see a fellow TRC lover! BLLB is my fave of the series

Hi! Not sure if you’re looking for thrillers but Her Last Breath by Taylor Adams definitely fits! Didn’t realize there were so many classics in caves! Will definitely check them out.

yes, absolutely i am looking for thrillers! the more the merrier! caves are a brilliant idea in a thriller, i think they very much lend themselves to overall tenseness and creepiness. i will add it posthaste 😋 i’ll admit i played a bit fast and loose with the classic caves: both inferno and paradise lost subterranean settings are actually depictions of hell, but the level of description i thought merited an inclusion

Yay!! Totally agree about the tense and creepiness! Haha no worries - I’ve never thought of hell as a cave before. I like it!
