oooo i would’ve loved this in middle school! thank you for compiling these <3
We Do Not Welcome Our Ten-Year-Old Overlord by Garth Nix & The International House of Dereliction by Jacqueline Davies!
This is such a cute list! The middle school version of me would have eaten this up.
such an underrated genre for this age!!!
long lost by jacqueline west, not quite a ghost by anne ursu, any lindsay currie book! (its watching & it found us are my favourites), the haunting of aveline jones (series) by phil hickes & dread wood (series) by jennifer killick would all be great for this list too :3
I love this!! Not Quite a Ghost is SO good. The Clackity by Lora Senf is another great one. Three more on my TBR: Another by Paul Tremblay, The Better to Eat You With by Tehlor Mejia, and Cry Out Loud by Tara O'Connor!
Oh, sorry, I just looked up Cry Out Loud, and apparently it's YA 🫣 (Also, thank you for including my suggestions!)
Just saw that this list was one of the ones we can vote for this quarter! So happy for you, it's a great list!!
I would consider the Lockwood and Co books to be middle grade horror if you're still looking for suggestions!
