we as a society don’t talk enough about how Bilbo is a fashion diva apparently

Hot take - I liked the Hobbit better than LotR. I really appreciated the slower pace, and I thought Tolkien did such a good job pulling off a character with relatively small stakes thrown into a world with huge universe-ending problems.

Reminded of a heated debate between me and some friends on whether Odysseus cheated on Penelope or not.
They ceded their point when I found the exact passage. 👍

I would appreciate some more word building personally... I like that he's trying hard not to overwhelm the reader, but the only introducing information when it's necessary does make me feel a bit behind

As someone who watched the show forever ago and who hardcore shipped bellarke, I was not expecting how different it would be. I started reading the book because I got back on my bellarke feels and instead of torturing myself by rewatching the show I figured I’ll scratch the itch by reading the books. And already their relationship to each other is already DRASTICALLY different compared to their tv counterparts. I enjoyed reading it because I loved the tv show but it was interesting that the show decided to seemingly combine characters into one or into a completely new character. The plot lines are more or less the same but it’s interesting to see who is more involved in them.

Guys how romantic is this, really want to read it but I may have been traumatized by expecting hard fantasy from Acotar - is it like that or is it more clean?

Finding this very different from the Clockwork Princess books and tbh not entirely sure how to feel abt it... I miss the historical period!

An introduction to the Fantasy genre, these books are part of the cultural zeitgeist or the 'canon' that many would recognize. Look for more niche titles in later Starter Pack volumes.
