  • What's your preferred method of reading?

For me, I used to be a hardcover, physical copy only person. Paperback if I had no other choice. Then I started reading fanfic and that you can only read via internet unless you printed it out. So, I got used to reading on the computer. (I was reading fanfic before we had internet on cellphones.)

Then when smartphones came out, I realized that I loved the convenience of reading on my phone, rather than toting a physical book around. (Especially since I'm very protective of my physical copies and don't want to damage them.) So my main method of reading nowadays is via the Kindle app or my e-readers. I still have my physical copies as well, because I am also a book collector.

I have yet to adventure into audio books because I don't believe that I would retain any of the story just by listening as I'm easily distracted. I might could do with immersive reading though. However, I have heard that not all narrators are created equal, so I'm leery about that.

So I'm curious on how you prefer to read. Physical, digital, audio? All three? Another way that I haven't mentioned?

I know some readers can be a little pretentious about physical vs digital vs audio and whether some don't count as reading, but I'm of the firm belief that it doesn't matter how, just so long as you do read. If you can't read, you can't learn. If you can't learn, then you can't grow.

book rec for agatha christie and dan brown fan?

hellooo, as per the aforementioned title, do you guys have any book recs for somebody who likes to read agatha christie books and dan brown books? i know they’ve said they like more mystery novels and that’s not my genre of expertise which is i am turning to my fellow boundlings to help me out. y’all have Neverrrrr disappointed me so i truly appreciate all your recs ! i would love to gift them a good book and even introduce to them a new author since they said they’re a casual reader and i don’t know if they are into collecting books.

all i know for sure is they don’t enjoy romance and fantasy as much they would most definitely give the book a shot if i gift it to them but i wouldn’t want to give them something they’ve already expressed they don’t like. any ideas? :((

edit : they also really enjoyed the movie your name and casually watch ghibli movies. idk if they would like the books as much tbh.

    4.25 overall.

The ending was great, closed a chapter and opened another. Did great with the multi-povs and timeline. The characters developed pretty well overall and balanced each other out for the most part. Some people (a couple of side characters) got dropped on the way that could've used a better tie in at the end, even if super brief, like a paragraph or two for all of them. But overall super enjoyable. Would recommend for people who read a whole lot of litfic or historical fiction who wants to break into a mystery cuz it's a good mix of litfic and mystery.

  • Whodunit crimes/mysterys

Hi y'all! This year is apparently the year of me trying new genres. And I actually read a Whodunit. The ending dissapointed be but I had a blast actually guessing and engaging with the book.

So I am wondering if you could give me ither Whodunit books.

The idea is that it's kinda like "Knives out" if anyone saw those movie. So an esemble of characters in one setting (a house, a village, etc.), where a murder happens and we follow along with the characters and unravel things at the same time.

Preferably I would like it without a supernatural twist, however I would also take a Whodunit that is established as fantasy. I just don't want to be suprised by it.

I am open for absolutly everything.

    Thank you in advance ♡♡

Thoughts from 55% (page 170) - End of chapter 3

Yes, fellow readers, I'm 170 pages in and just finished chapter 3.... out of 7 chapters. I'm enjoying the book. I'm liking how the characters & plot are developing. I like how the pacing is going - it's slow, but steady. But the chapters are ssssoooooo long.
