Reality is overrated! These surreal and absurd fiction books remove logic to reveal their truths. Here the impossible is inevitable, the strange is necessary, and Kafkaesque is only the beginning.

I enjoyed this book. I liked the magic, the additional characters, and the expansion of the worldās lore. Although the plot and characters follow a fairly typical romantasy formula, I think it was reasonably well done, and I enjoyed learning more about the world and its monsters. As for the writing, there is a lot of telling instead of showing, but overall it was fine and could just be elevated further to enhance the experience.
I hope the next book does justice to the reasoning behind the sickness, and I plan to continue with the series for the magic and overall plot. I can also understand why some people wouldnāt enjoy this one as much, since it felt more like a bridging book in the series.
