I swear some of y'all can speed read (not a bad thing) and maintain so much detail. It will take me days to a week to get through a 400 to 500 page book and I will miss so much context sometimes. I also find myself sometimes becoming easily distracted when reading slower parts of books which definitely extends my reading time. Sometimes I just can't focus on whatever is going on and then will need to reread the parts. I'm reading for enjoyment of course and the discussions here, but I find myself feeling inefficient, which shouldn't really matter but I was curious what everyone's strategy was to read so quickly. I feel like some of y'all will start a 500 page book in the morning and have a detailed review by the evening, which is awesome and I need to know your secrets.

Guys, i love reading with background noise and I like feeling like I am accomplishing a task/finishing something so what series or movies do you recommend which could be considered as good background noise as well as an interesting watch?

Curious to hear from others. How do you rate books? I’ve seen a lot of people that say a 3 star is a good book for them and they only give higher stars for books that are almost perfect. For me, I give out 4-5 stars a lot I think but it’s because it’s about how hard it was to put the book down. Whether I thought about the book when I wasn’t reading it and if I was attached to the characters. 5 stars to me doesn’t necessarily mean it’s the most amazingly written book, just that I had a really good time reading it. I was curious to hear how others rate! I think it’s all valid, I’d just love to know how others do it too.

When you read a series, do you read straight from book one to the end with no other books in between? Or do you break up the series and read different books between installments? For me, I usually read other book in between.

Since an.n4 asked the question of the day haha, I have the opposite question: what’s a book you weren’t expecting too much from, or was not your usual kind of read, that ended up being a 5-star read?
