This was an awesome read. I love mystery novels and never read such classics as this. I also have to say the audiobook (David Suchet) really brought it to life and made it so enjoyable. His voice acting was great (the American accents were funny to me though lol) I never watched the film either so I was so glad I had NO spoilers for this and looking forward to watching the movie!!š„ yay!

š§ I did the audio so listened whilst I walked the dog etc but had I have been eyeballing, I would 100% have DNF'd.
This was my second book by this author and probably my last. I didn't mind the characters, but it just sort of chugged along and nothing overly interesting really happened. Nada.

I've obviously read books that have impacted me emotionally, but never has one actually altered how I go about my day to day life until I read Tender Is The Flesh. I genuinely haven't eaten meat since, and that's deeply upsetting for me as I used to love a good steak! Considering it's fiction, it really caught me off guard.
The community recs don't really work for me as I don't really like horror and wouldn't want to read anything of a similar genre but I liked the dystopian vibes and I loved that it packed such a punch. I wondered if anyone had any good recs for equally impacting reads that don't involve cannibalism!
