I'm so confused as to what vampirism is supposed to be a metaphor of or if it is even supposed to mean anything. A part of me wants it to symbolize addictions and/or eating disorders though I can't help but think that it would have been portrayed differently if it were the case Has the author made any statement/ is it common knowledge what it is supposed to be representing or is it for the reader to draw their own conclusions ? I just don't want to misinterpret the book :(
