After a litany of disappointing reads, I am curious as to what YOUR last 5 star read was (within any genre). Feel free to elaborate on why you gave it 5 stars or just stick with the basics!
If you don’t use star ratings, then just whatever your most recent loved/perfect book was would fit as well! 💜

A really fun read! A great combination of funny, cozy, and interesting. It took a little while to warm up to most of the characters, but by the end I was wanting to give all of them hugs. I also laughed aloud multiple times, which is rare for me while I read.

I woke up today thinking about this because I have read and hear comments that say that people won't read certain books or finish them because they felt like the book was "stupid" or that it gives them a headache because the book is "so simple". In my case, I enjoy most books I read and I can even give it a 5 star rating because it either brought out a strong emotion in me (rage, sadness, etc.), or I just enjoyed the story of the book and could appreciate the way it was written and I did not analyze it or thought that the story or narrator was "dumb" or something. In general I do not do the analyzing books thing, specially with fiction, and I would like to hear from people how do they approach reading. Is it something that needs to be like studying, is it for enjoyment, is it for critique? I'm genuinely curious.

Aloha Bookaholics!
Here is your question of the day:
Whats a bookish habit that you have that would seem weird to non-readers? 😅

Do list curators like or dislike receiving comments with recommendations?
I know that quests encourage and even solicit recommendations/feedback, but lists are a bit more personal so I was curious how we're meant to approach them.
For example, I saw a list of books set in my region, and wanted to suggest a few more but didn't want to step on any toes! Another was a list where the books all contain an MC named Agnes and I am currently reading two books that could be included!

Does anyone else have contradictory likes/dislikes when it comes to books? For instance, it usually turns me off when I read a review saying that a book was very slow or even dragging, and sometimes it even influences me to avoid picking up said book. However, when I'm reading a book and it happens to be slow, I could not care less as long as it is well written and I'm enjoying the plot/characters/vibes. Does that make any sense?

How do you organize your physical book collection:
As I begin to build my own physical collection I'm weighing the pros and cons of how to organize them. What works for you?
