The Female Rage Reading List
Books where women are messy, angry, unhinged, and so unapologetic about it. I swear nothing feels as cathartic as reading a woman burn the world down (sometimes literally) and watching the pieces fall exactly where she wants them.🔪📚

Is it somehow cheating to ask what avatars get unlocked with each level up? I'm so curious to know what options I'll have in the future!
I was delighted to turn myself into a bowl of rice recently at Level 4. Hoping for a cup of tea or a potato someday. 😂

Okay, so last year I discovered my love of this subgenre after reading Butcher & Blackbird and Lights Out, and I just finished Tourist Season and since I have to WAIT until JUNE for the next book, I NEED something to fill that void.
As someone who reads mostly rom-coms, I’m not the biggest fan of DARK dark romance, but give me a book about two serial unalivers falling in love with hilarity and unhinged hijinks? I’m in. I enjoy suspense (that’s a lie… I friggin LOVE it), but I also like having the comedy that balances it out.
Got any recs? I do plan on finally finishing the Ruinous Love trilogy, as well as Navessa Allen’s newest release, but I would love to have more to add to my tbr 🫶🏻

That's her classic line. Don't worry about what you can't control.

I truly hope that Sam is right about the ironic effect of AI. Fingers crossed.

One-star reviews are so useful when deciding whether to read a book, and I'm curious what "negative" aspects that other people call out actually draw you towards a book even more.
For example, every time I see negative reviews mention that the book feels "pretentious" or has "purple prose" I immediately add it to my TBR lol. I like my prose lush and sumptuous, dripping in decadence and self-indulgence. I want Oscar Wilde rolling in his grave out of jealousy at a turn of phrase.
Another thing I love is when people talk about an unlikable female character, specifically one that is maybe too cold or ambitious or morally irredeemable. I eat that up! I like my female characters evil and owning it.
Conversely, if a one-star review even mentions the word "juvenile" when it comes to the writing or characters, I'm out. Don't even need to read the rest of the review. If I even catch a whiff of the phrase "feels like YA," I click out and never look back.
What red flags for other people are green flags for you?

I don't know anything about Archie/Riverdale, and I'm not a comics person. I picked this up solely because I saw that Jordan Morris was the writer, and I'm having a great time! Very funny stuff.

If Pop doesn't want to see Giant Hoagies from Outer Space, I certainly do! 😂

SomeWeirdRabbitThing commented on Anneonearth's review of The Group Trip
Throughout this book, I couldn’t decide if this is the worst friend group or the most realistic.
The Group Trip follows Chloe as she goes on a trip with her friend group one year after essentially blowing it up when she refused her longterm boyfriend’s proposal. Despite being at a beautiful beach house with a perfectly planned itinerary, it doesn’t take long for things to go (more) wrong. Turns out everyone has secrets and no one is perfect (although some people are VERY much more flawed than others and possibly not deserving of as much grace as they were given IMO but I digress).
Avoiding spoilers, some bits worked for me, some bits did not, and ultimately I’d probably read the sequel so I guess I liked this dysfunctional found family more than I expected.
