Hey Everyone,
I'm thinking of treating myself to a reading getaway later this year and I've got decision paralysis about what the vibe of the getaway should be. Do I want a little cabin in the woods for a little hiking action, an all-inclusive resort to be pampered, a beachside condo to reconnect with the ocean, a busy metropolitan so I can visit museums during the day? Too many options, help đ!
Where are your favourite reading getaways and why?

I recently read Compound Fracture by Andrew Joseph White and the MC is autistic and he hates the experience of showering but can't articulate why. Later, an autistic friend tells him that you can make accommodations for yourself, for example he hates how bright bathroom lights are and I was like OMG ME TOO. I was like why have I, as an autistic person, been suffering through this thing I have to do very regularly. Showering is so over stimulating. Anywho, his friend tells him to get a small nightlight instead of the big overhead light, so I did the same and wow, life is better already. đż
Have you incorporated any gems of wisdom from fiction into your life??

SomeWeirdRabbitThing commented on SomeWeirdRabbitThing's review of Random
The Random not-religion is a fascinating premise, but Penn Jillette still writes like the edgiest edgelord in all the land. I would have enjoyed this a lot more if it didn't come off so tryhard. Sock has the same edgelord energy, but it was published in 2004 and I consider it a product of its time somewhat. Random was written almost 20 years later, so I'm not inclined to give any grace.
This is the kind of goofy humor that I love from Penn: Better remember to get some orange juice so he wouldnât choke to death on the peanut butter. He still might drown in the orange juice that couldnât get around the peanut butter, but life is risky.
This, not so much: 𤢠Lenny Bruce talked about the goofiness of the cross around the neck. If the myth of Jesus had started just a couple thousand years later, sexy little Catholic school girls would have gold electric chairs dangling between their brand-new heavers.

is there anyone who actually likes the movie better then the book? The only one i liked better was the summer i turned pretty. Otherwise i feel they always screw it up so muchhhh. Either poor casting or they take out key details or really hilarious parts. I still need to watch where the crawdads sing, the boy in the stripped pajamas, daisy jones and the six, and probably a lot more but i dont know if its worth my time.
