Strange to read an Australian children's book that involves a gun (in a non-farm setting). That really threw all of us, adults and kids alike.
Discussion topics prompted by this book included: ⢠Why invasive species are harmful to the environment ⢠The importance of following safety guidelines ⢠How to deal with bullying/mean behaviour ⢠Whether it's okay to break a promise/oath under certain circumstances

Hey all, did you see this news? It looks like just a trial so far, but thoughts on how we can push back and get them to rehire their human translators?

Edit I got it to work! I had to switch editions and copy that url because apparently the Kindle edition would not take. Thank you everyone who reached out trying to help. ā¤ļø
Does anyone know if there has been a delay with the influx of new users for adding a missing book via a Goodreads link? I have tried for the past couple days to add a missing book I've copied the link from the URL and the share link button and it still hasn't shown up anywhere.

I went to Indigo today (a large bookstore chain for those not in Canada/USA) as I got a gift card for Christmas and it was my birthday today soooo I took advantage of the extra savings! š„³š
BUT MY REAL QUIERY: as I was walking around, I saw people sitting at tables, on benches and chairs, all reading books and magazines. So, do people use these large bookstores like a library? Are they studying? Seeing if they like the first chapters of a book to then buy it? Iām very curious! What do you use the seating spaces for? What do you use the large bookstores for (other than purchases)?

I feel like one you have to read for school might not, but if Iām pulling through a textbook I willingly chose to read to learn something or become smarter in a topic, Iād want to celebrate when Iām done with it, right? Especially with languages or if the textbook was boring. But idk, what are peopleās opinions?

How do you feel about DNF? Iām not liking one rn for a quest Iām in but Iām feeling guilty to DNF. Is it just a me thing?

I put the books that I already own but havenāt read yet in my TBR tab. In the interested tab I put the books I want to read by I donāt have a copy of.
I was just wondering if anyone else sorts it this way. Or if you donāt, how do you sort it? If you do at all that is to say.

Welcome! PageboundGuide is a moderator account run by a group of friendly, human volunteers who are longtime users. We put together this guide to help new users navigate Pagebound as a whole--for those who prefer having everything in one place despite it being long (estimated read time: 3-4 minutes). If you have a specific question, visit the FAQ, and if you still need support, then you can reach Jennifer & Lucy via Contact Us linked in the footer.
Pagebound functions differently from other book spaces and social media. The focus is on timeless discussions about books, and to preserve this (and prevent it from becoming like every other social media), this community has guidelines!
The Content Guide is a comprehensive overview of how to create public content on Pagebound. Anyone with a Pagebound account can post/comment and create public Lists. Quests (reading challenges with custom badges to earn) are created by Top Contributors (more info in the FAQ). In the guide, youāll also find an overview of Pageboundās values, explaining why these guidelines to posting public content exist.
As a new user, you were also asked to read the Posting Guidelines: a quick crash course to posting on Pagebound. You can revisit this in the app anytime by clicking the Menu in the navigation bar > Settings & FAQ > Posting Guidelines.
When you change the status of a book or update your progress for a book you're currently reading, an activity card is created on your profile and sent to your followersā home feeds. Only one progress update per book will be created per day (starting and ending at midnight in your local time, so if you update progress a 2nd time within the same day, that card will just get updated). You can comment on these activity cards to share personal updates with your followers. This is the place to share your excitement to read a book, if your library hold is expiring, or that you just got your pre-sale copy! Personal updates donāt belong in the book forumā-see next section:
Why does this matter? The reason we ask that Lists be for the community & themed as a collection rather than around personal organization because they're displayed at the bottom of every book page. People use Lists as a way to find similar books, so it's a bad experience when the only thing tying the books in a list together is a personal reason unique to one person.
Pagebound uses Markdown! Here is a guide.
Most Common uses: Bold = ** before and after text Italics = * before and after text Hyperlink = [display text](link without spaces) Gif =
Submit the Book Dupe form available at support.pagebound.co on web or via the settings page from Your Profile on the mobile app.
Pagebound is not trying to be the same as other book apps/social media sites, and so things operate a little differently here. We so appreciate you taking the time to learn how to participate in this community ā¤ļø
As longtime users, we love this space and are thrilled to welcome you. Please feel free to ask further questions in the comments. Happy reading!
