I read the first two books of caraval and I think it’s a great series (although I with we got more Julian and Scarlett content) and I read the first 20 pages of finale and just dnfed it I was reading the books back to back so it just felt to slow after reading legendary it’s been about 2 months since then and I was wondering if I should finish it

Anyone else like just can't do audiobooks while like moving (walking/ running, at the gym, etc.) idk I think it's just my brain like I'm not an audiobook person anyway but like maybe I could get used to it but like I feel like I was going slower when I tried to listen to one. Idk just seeing if anyone else can't like me

Disregard plot, prose, or popularity. I'm talking about the physical attributes that make your brain go "oOOohh"!
My ideal book features include:
•hardcover, but like the old school kind that feels woven •gilded designs for the front AND back (rather than a hardcover wrap of dust jacket texture) •no dust cover because I just throw them in a drawer and never look at them again •good structure for the spine (I don't fuck with a squeaky book) •deckle edges because it makes it look like it has character •pages that have a warmer hue rather than being blindingly bright white
I'm curious to see what other people prefer in their physical book characteristics!

ok so… I think I'm officially in my first real reading slump of the year and idk how to crawl out of it ):
I just started my first job (yay me!) + this uni semester so my brain is fried. the books I'm currently reading are good (really good!), but they’re content heavy and feel like a chore rn. I tried switching to the audiobooks, but my mind just logs off halfway through (womp womp).
I don’t want to stop reading tho, so… what’s your go-to slump cure? :)
drop your best recs so we can build a “slump-buster” list! ✨
tysm in advance ♥

I have seen it ALL, been there done that; from actual bookmarks, magnetic, paper, metallic, wooden to receipts and pills I will have to take later at night so I will also remember to read that chapter at the exact time. I have used my headbands, CDs or my actual bra
With a little imagination everything can turn into a bookmark
After everything I have ended up just remembering pages because I got exhausted What has worked for you??

Since Pagebound I've been reading more books at once (and just plain reading more) and I've developed some habits I want to share but I also need more tips and want to hear about yours!
I read a nonfiction audiobook, currently The Palestine Laboratory when I'm walking places (mainly to the thrift store and the used bookstore where there are cats for me to pet while listening) or if I'm playing a game I don't have to focus on.
I've been reading my literary fiction, currently A Girl Called Eel while I'm on break at work - it just developed like that I didn't plan it but when I'm at work I'm drawn to my lit fic. I typically like reading my lit fic during the day - it doesn't tend to be a genre I like opening up super early or late so afternoon fits it best.
I've been reading my adult fantasy, currently Babel mostly in the mornings but sometimes staying up late to fit in a couple chapters. Adult fantasy is easier for me to get totally lost in and wanting to stay up for but the morning time calls to it for me and the vibe with my morning tea is perfect for it.
And I've been reading my cozy fantasy, currently Howl's Moving Castle as an in-between when I know I want to read but am emotionally overwhelmed from my other books!
So what's your method if you read multiple books at once? Do you break it up by genre? Time of day? All vibes no plan? I'm tempted to start even more books but I'm worried I'll get lost in the sauce.

I’m a little over halfway through the book and the tension is just 🫠. Like every time I read a page I’m basically just screaming at my book JUST KISS ALREADY

Does anyone have any clean pirate recommendations I haven’t read any yet ☺️

My guilty pleasures are love triangle, I'm sorry 😭 I know how overhated they are in the book community, but personally, I like the tension. Though, I do agree that some are not well done or are boring. It pmo sometimes when the fmc chooses the guy that treats her like shit over the nice guy.
Any recs for a clean love triangle romance book? (Doesn't matter the genre, really, I'm open to anything as long as it's clean.)

Does anyone have any YA no spice book recs that aren't really well known or trending on social media?
I'll read just about anything that's suggested if I haven't already read it. Anything is great!
For example, I love Jennifer Lynn Barnes (The Inheritance Games, The Naturals, The Grandest game) Ann Sei Lin (Rebel Skies) and Leigh Bardugo (Six of crows, Shadow and bone).
Thank You!!!
