It’s odd and challenging listening to a book where the main character is racist and religious. Even though she’s not overly religious it’s, hard listening to her speak about the founder of their city that had “visions from god” and that was their reasoning for stealing from native people. She’s so smart and logical how does she not hear herself and how absurd it sounds😪
When I read the trigger warnings for this book I assumed people were going to be racist towards her (in my head she was black? I had no context clues but I probably saw something on tik tok and now it’s in the back of my head) not her towards the mmc.
Also now worried because how can there be any real romance? I as a black woman would never date or have relations with someone who has thought the things about me that she has about him..even if they become educated and got with the shits😳
