I am reading this for the unknownth time this summer, as a member of a read-along group on Substack. The Substack is You Want it Darker? Written by Monica Van Fleet, a self-described Dracula scholar. We are reading a chapter a week--this may change, as there are 27 chapters--and she's writing about the book's background, history, etc. She's got a YouTube channel where she's posting deep dives into the world of the Victorian readers who first encountered Dracula. And we Readers are reading along as if we were those Victorians. Some of us are playing along, by commenting in the community chat as our Victorian personality of our own making. It's a fun way to revisit an old favorite book, and to learn a LOT more about its history and lore.

Hey fellow LOTR lovers! Lately, Iāve been pondering a line from the Riddle of Strider: ānot all those who wander are lost.ā Iāve always had a vague sense of what that beautifully crafted line (or really the whole poem) means, but I was wondering if anyone else had deeper takes on it? I really love that line and was interested in knowing what others took away from it! What does it mean to yāall? š„¹š«¶š¼

Happy Friday amazing PB readers! Iām in the mood for devastation and some healthy (or even unhealthy) crying.
I want a book that is going to absolutely destroy me. Iām talking ugly crying, canāt-see-the-words-through-my-tears, questioning-my-life-choices kind of heartbreak.
I want the one that left you staring at a wall after finishing. The ones you still think about. The ones that hurt so good youād read them again anyway.
The last one that had me grasping for reality was The Last Letter by Rebecca Yarros
Make me cry, friends!

I finally decided to pick up this book after watching the movie for the first time last year, and I have to say, it's already absolutely fantastic. The writing is so lyrical and beautiful while being easy to digest. I'm surprised by how similar it is to the movie! (Or, rather, the movie to the book)
Also, I don't usually listen to music while reading, but listening to Enya while reading this is a very mystical experience.
