Curled up with a cat, cuppa, and a good book. I read a variety of books from fiction, sci-fi, fantasy, to nonfiction about brains, bodies, and politics.

I hope this plot picks up cuz there's a lot of 'woman written by a man' going on here, and I can only tolerate so much.

The first half was really solid, the virus plotline got a little...strange. but I love these characters.

    Audiobook -

Set against the backdrop of WWII, this book intertwines the tale of two characters. Werner, a young German boy who is unsure of the actions of the Nazis and Marie-Laure, a French blind girl who is involved in the resistance with her family.

Being in their stories and in their POVs was interesting, but also slow. I know that was the point but multiple times I wondered if I had missed anything. I think the same themes could have been explored in a shorter and less....jumpy way.

Maybe I would have liked it more as a standard paperback.
