A book I read recently featured a illegitimate son who was keeping his father captive in a basement, and I went "Man, I really do love stories where people hold others captive."
Gilded cages, treated like a pet, desperate to not be alone, dark romance, friendship gone wrong, enemies from opposite sides of a war, whatever. It is all good.
Can you recommend some books with that premise in part or in whole?
They can be freed in the end or have a dark ending. Either is fine. :D

So I got the arc for Victorious and when I say I was so excited I mean I was whacking my partner in excitement because I couldn't form a cohesive sentence. I was deadset it was going to be my next read right after I reread Vengeful but then I sat down and was like OH NO THIS IS IT. I know it is going to be a five star read I ain't worried about that, I've loved everything V.E Schwab has written, I even have two tattoos based on her books. But this is it. After this I won't read about these characters and I am actually devastated. I am so grateful to be back in this world especially because it was originally suppose to be a standalone and I know it has to end but I just ain't ready. But also I wanna read it so badly. I keep looking over at my kindle longingly (even though I really should be writing my research report for university, I shouldn't even be on Pagebound whoops) but so far I have read two other books instead because I am too much of a chicken to finish the series š
Any one else have this dilemma? š„¹

Love the home and profile gradients. Although it would be nice to have multiple stock gradient options or customizable options (i.e. choosing five colors to create a gradient for homepage, 2 colors for profile, plus one or more standalone color). Some kind of customization for themes overall! Especially for profiles. Show off peopleās creativity and choices when they go on profiles.

The ability to add books via a Goodreads link is an amazing feature I have definitely used, however there are many people who do not want to use that site.
It would be nice to also be able to add books from other places, such as the Open Library, or manually add them.
I enjoy reading Indie and Self Published books, which often means adding them myself. I do add them to Goodreads, but someone who avoids that site wouldn't have the same option.

Hii!
So I love Pagebound, I've been using it for a solid year at the same time as I use bookmory, though I'd really like to be using Pagebound solely.
The only thing is, I'm a sucker for stats and I love what you've done this far.
And I was thinking, if you could make the emojis or even like genre tags (which I think I've seen through searching through the requests, you might be already planning on doing) in a general pie chart of the year.
I think it would be a very fun add-on to a stats system that I already adore what you have now.
Thank you so much for your consideration and all the work you do. ā¤ļø

What are your thoughts on chapter titles? Personally, I love them, especially when they're clever and hint at what may happen in the chapter. But I feel like so many books don't have them! Perhaps they're just more common/popular with YA and middle grade books, so publishers don't want to include them in adult books.

Hey y'all!
I know there's an option to import your Goodreads/Storygraph library/info, and that you get an extra 50 points for it. Pagebound says 80% of users import their reading history.
However, I've decided that I'm going to manually input my reading log going all the way back to 2016. The reasons for this are threefold: Goodreads maintenance has always been terrible, with multiple editions of the same book on various shelves (read, want to read, etc); I don't want to have to then work to cull books on my TBR once they are with me on Pagebound, but rather start fresh; and there is a quiet sort of joy in looking through my reading history through the years, and in remembering where I was in my life.
If you input manually or auto-imported previous reading history, tell me more. Why? How has the process felt?

If the first book focused more on Nigel, this one is dedicated to Oscar and his family and heritage.
The cast has been established and you can get straight into the story and action (of which there is much more). Reminds me more of say a Supernatural episode than the Conjuring movie vibes the first book invoked.
I had a lot of fun reading it and once again, the characters are the best part. Their relationships (of all types) have wonderful chemistry and you want to cheer for all of them.
An enjoyable sequel for sure.
