Saw some reviews that compared this novel to Jane Austen’s Pride & Prejudice and now that I’m getting further into this, I see the similarities. That wallpaper moment sealed the deal for me 😭 I’m quite excited to see how this is going to go!

I’m definitely going to have trouble listening to this one while I’m working. This book calls for undivided attention. I just missed like 5 character introductions lol.

If you're a completionist, read in this order. Otherwise you can start with The Liveship Traders Trilogy or The Rain Wild Chronicles, but make sure you save Fitz and the Fool for last.

Hi, I’m about to dip my toes into Homer and I in general plan to read more classic literature in 2026, and I was struggling to decide which version of the Iliad I should start with. I’m a newbie but I’m not intimidated by complicated translations, however if there is something more accessible for first timers and is still considered a quality translation I’d prefer to go with that. I’ve heard Fagles is quite easy to use as a starting point and most pros do not recommend Wilson’s translations, but I’m just on the fence.
If anyone has any recommendations or tips for getting into epic poetry and other works of Ancient Greece (is there something I should read before getting into Iliad/Odyssey ?), please feel free to share your thoughts ! Thank you 💫

For 15 years of my life, I have been consuming all types of media produced by one or both of the Green brothers. In addition to being an informative and interesting work of non-fiction, I believe it adheres still to the themes and ideas of John’s novels and their YouTube videos. Unless it’s concerning one of my idiosyncratic interests, I am not inclined to pick up a non-fiction over a fiction book. However, Green’s clear passion for the subject and his consideration to the great, poetic human condition have softened me to the genre. I think any book that leaves you with a sense of purpose, a call to action, is worth it. DFTBA! 🖖🏻
