Please, please, please read this book. I cannot stress highly enough how utterly wonderful it is and how it has the power to bring so much joy to the world!
If I could give this 12 stars I would. This book delighted and charmed me in ways I never expected to be delighted and charmed, and kept me captivated from the very beginning.
I’m really struggling here to do this book justice. The characters are just lovely (except for the ones who aren’t supposed to be!), the plot was brilliant, the narrative voice so endearing and hilarious, and these little moments of reflection on humanity so heartwarming.
Actually, heartwarming is the perfect way to describe this book. I am besotted with it beyond my wildest imaginings and I honestly feel like everyone would love it too. I don’t often feel like a book would have such a wide ranging appeal that everyone would love it, but this is one of them.
This is my first foray into Brandon Sanderson’s work and I am thrilled to venture further into the Cosmere :)

That's such a lovely review :) I agree wholeheartedly!
I would say this book is a ceramic mug full of chicken noodle soup, that my mom is bringing me on a snow day. It’s not quite the size and shape of modern mugs. The one in the cabinet that when I’m older and helping my mom pack up I’ll turn to her and say “Oh I love this one” And she’ll say “me too”. I really loved this book, it’s “cozy” without feeling like it’s pandering to a specific audience or ignoring the realities of the world (mine or theirs). It’s comforting, and I enjoyed the world, the characters, and the writing style grew on me after getting past the memories of tumblr. It really stuck the landing, the ending wrapped everything up spectacularly & I am sad there’s not more.

Incredible. Also, did you know you can actually buy the cup from the book?! With the butterfly flying over the crimson sea?! I may or may not have added it to my personal mug collection because I may have a little bit of Tress’ obsession with cups :)
