I recently bought a Kindle and I absolutely adore it — for some reason it makes me want to read way more often than I used to! I feel near addicted to reading again just like when I was a kid, even though for years I barely read any books besides my course-assigned readings. I was wondering if anyone else here has had a similar experience with their e-readers, and I’m curious to hear any thoughts on why that might be!

For myself, my theories are: the portability of it, the e-ink technology simply fascinating me, the ability to easily personalize your reader, the ability to easily swap between books on the same device, the lack of distraction compared to reading on a phone or tablet, not being able to physically see how many pages are left compared to a printed book (especially for thicker, more daunting reads), and maybe even the comfort of using a phone-like device (since my own cell phone has become a bit of a crutch for me, haha). Most likely some combination of all of the above.

But anyway — wow, I am so happy to be reading as much as I have been since buying an e-reader for myself! 🥹 Am interested in hearing similar stories (or alternatively, if you tried one and didn’t like it, why it didn’t work for you)!

So far I’ve just been rating/reviewing the books I have something more lengthy to say about, but I wonder if it might be worth it to just rate all my completed books and not worry about leaving a “proper” review 🤔

Hi guys!! I’m currently reading Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, and i’m realizing that I NEVER want this book to end. - I wanted to know if you have read a book recently that you didn’t want to end/putdown?!🥲 looking for more books to add to my expanding tbr!

I've been on PB for about 6 months now and am noticing that I'm reading SO MUCH MORE and am also much more likely to be critically engaging with texts.

As someone who has been in university for 9 years (with one year break), I used to treat fiction as even more of a brain break. I was reading a lot of the same types of books - i.e. endless amounts of books about lady spies mixed with every available popular linguistics book. I'd also read every single Tudor historical fiction book available when I was in high school. Before joining PB I was just starting to dip my toes into fantasy (shoutout to R.F. Kuang for converting me).

Now, I find myself constantly exercising my literary analysis muscles and also reading a much wider variety of books. I've learned that I absolutely love found family in fantasy (because duh) and definitely don't mind it when authors get a little experimental (please drop recs for this btw!).

I'm curious, how has PB changed the way you approach books or the types of books you read?

I’m looking for a book to read before summer is over and I have been looking everywhere! Does anyone have any suggestions for summer romance novels or anything like it?

Does anyone else have adhd and super indecisive about what they read? I have a huge library stack. How do yall choose? Ones in my stack include immortal longings,The river we became, Lady Macbeth, Goddess of the river.The librarians probably hate me because I have so many books checked out. I don't hoard the new ones though I promise. 😅😃
