I refuse to believe that there's even a single person who read this book and wasn't able to see that plot twist coming. There was SO much potential- the aesthetic, the characters, and the unique decision to take inspiration from a real life incident. The only reason I didn't rate this 0.5 stars is that the amount of research that went into making this book is noticeable. It was interesting to see how real events were incorporated into the story. But come ON, seriously? The ending was supposed to surprise me? Even the tiny little hints in the starting of the book weren't difficult to point out. Also, it felt like the MC and her love interest were the only two people actually trying to figure out what was going on, the only ones aware of the horrors taking place. The author failed to show how the murders were affecting other people. There was no shift in the vibe before the brutal murders started happening, and after. And if you really think about it, the protagonists weren't even doing much. Just making theories, then trying out a few random stuff which mostly led to dead ends.
