  • What book/book series is your ride or die?

Ok, so you know that book series that you read and fell instantly in love; where you are so immersed with the world and their characters that they feel so real you ; where a character(s) is your book boyfriend/girlfriend/spouse; and you just generally die happy from shock every time it's brought up (or a slightly less exaggerated form of this feeling)?

    Yeah, I don't have that.

    sniffles then sobs

But I believe it's finally the time to find my own favourite book series! So feel free to drop recommendations or your own favourites. I really don't any preference, so it could be romance, fantasy, adventure, action/crime, e.t.c e.tc...

EDIT: omg, just a few minutes after making this post and already have so many replies. Thank you all! I have made a list of series mentioned and will try and get through it all. Don't be shy to add more: my tbr can never be full (mwahahahahaha)

This is a side note or whatever, but I'm surprised I didn't get popular booktok books as recommendations, as this is what usually floods my feed so I thought that was what everyone was reading lol.

  • Is anyone actually happy with their selection of 'My Taste' books?

I have been tortured over the books that I've chosen to display my taste in reading ever since I created my profile, and I'm guessing that others probably have this issue too?

I read so many books of so many different genres that it feels like a military strategic endeavour to try and narrow it down to 5 books, I've tried keeping it to my favourite in each genre but even then I love more than 5 genres and choosing which genres I favour the most is difficult.

I've seen some people's profiles who have books that I loved showcased as their favourites and it's made me stop and think "I love that book! Why don't I have it selected?"

And it kinda feels like I'm lying to people who look at and follow my profile because I haven't got the most accurate books to describe my reading tastes.

Anyone else have this problem? Anyone happy with their chosen books? Anyone have any advice for picking your favourite books?

  • Finding new books

How do you guys find new books to read?? I don’t really trust tiktok or social media because the ones that go viral aren’t for me. Sometimes I scroll on Libby for available books just to try something new. I will also always find new books to read when I go to the bookstore or the library, since I like to wander. Now that I’m on PB, it’s so easy to discover and research new books and I love it!!

just started it and joseph’s narration is getting to me. i know it’s usual for the time period of the book, but i’m trying to read some classics since i think they are important to read and my school was weird and never assigned classics to read. i read here different editions might help but i’m borrowing from libby. i might see if i can just find an audio book despite me never enjoying to get through it and see if that helps.

edit: my god i got the character’s name wrong, i meant mr. lockwood 😭. character names in this are difficult. joseph is still hard to understand though! i just also can’t get behind mr. lockwood’s narration but the audio book IS helping and the link for “translating” is helping with joseph.
