Hi Boundlings!

As the title says, I'm looking for fiction recs about loneliness, disconnection and social isolation. I have found and read a lot of books about it, but it's usually not in-depth or people find friends and found family, but that's not what I'm looking for now. I'm looking for exact opposite of that. A book where the person remains lonely and isolated, but perhaps finds comfort and peace with it in the end instead getting out of the isolation.

If you want background why I'm looking for books like it, I just went throught breakup with my girlfriend, who also was my only friend for the past 7 years. I have been struggling with connection with people my whole life due to my severe social anxiety and social isolation and that was also kinda hidden cause why the relationship failed. So I'm looking for books where I can cry my eyes out by how relatable it is and find comfort in seeing what my life might look like in the future when I won't be albe to get out of it.

this book does a really good job of explaining just enough of what’s going on that i don’t feel lost, while leaving enough out to keep me interested in reading on

really enjoying this book so far! its so cozy and most of the characters are great. ive been told it has a sapphic romance if thats the case im really liking how its not instant attraction they are getting to know each other very naturally and over time. books that skip the getting to know each other and becoming friends phase annoy me so this is nice.

i put reading this off for so long because i was worried it wouldn't live up to the hype and that i wouldn't like it, but i'm glad to have been proved wrong because i'm having the time of my life reading this

I don't know what I was expecting but I did not think I would read over 10 chapters of detailed description about starting a business from scratch. I don't mind if a book has no plot and is just for vibes but there should at least be some substance to compensate the lack of a plot, like interesting relationships, conversations or just inner monologue. I've found everything so far kind of meh.

i had a really special moment and wanted to share :) this community helped me figure out my pronouns and feel brave enough to share them actively on my profile! so many of you gorgeous beautiful humans have the coolest bios that help me see and love you through your own eyes. and it made me feel like i want others to understand me through my own eyes too. and that now also includes my pronouns :)

i feel so grateful and happy to share that my pronouns are them/āme/ella, bringing together the three languages and cultures that are my homes: english, telugu, and spanish. i didn’t know i could have multicultural pronouns but i’m learning something new about myself through this community every day, because of each of u who made me feel welcome to be me! throughout this journey, i have kept thinking about the book genderqueer, and how author maia kobabe (e/em/eir) talks about how it feels to find the pronouns that feel like home. i feel at home now 🌻🌧️✨🤍

Hey, beautiful people 💫 After that post I made in the forum I felt so surprised to see so many people relate to my situation, and it was overwhelming (in the best way) to feel everyone's support and understanding. So I want to take this opportunity to thank everyone who took the time to give me a little uplifting, it really made a difference.

This made me think that we really are a community of dear anonymous friends, who support each other through the love of books. Which led me to this thought: There are so many beautiful and original usernames... What's the story behind each one? (except for one_crazy_eliott, I think I understand the reason behind Mr. Crazy's username 🤭🤭🤭)

So, if you feel comfortable, share the story behind it. I think it will help bring us closer and keep everyone's anonymity anyway.

I'll start: The OGs know I started PB as fantasy.betareader but decided later to change my username to Pipsy to help me feel more connected here. This is a nickname my sister gave me when I was 3 or 4 years old, and it stuck until today. My whole family calls me by it, my friends, my teachers, my bosses, etc. Even on my passport, my signature says Pipsy. So that's basically my name 😊

It cracks me up the fact that DNF stands for a very polite "Did Not Finish" when in my head it meant "Dead n Forgotten" because (for me) those book are literally forgotten and I will never finish them 🤣
