Okay, who else thought the club scene was reminiscent of Queen of the Damned (the movie, not the book)? My heart was FLUTTERING.

The vibe of this book matches perfectly with the late 90s/early 00s supernatural romcoms. I think I fell in love with Daphne within three lines of dialogue.

This was a book I picked up with minimal expectations - I’d not read anything from Jodi Taylor before so I wasn’t sure what I was walking into. Suffice it to say, this story is extremely entertaining and characters are so wonderfully British, it’s almost like a posh riff on Warehouse 13. Highly recommend if you like quirky tales of history with a little drama and hijinks sprinkled in.
