This novella series is always a delight! Vo does such a great job of weaving a compelling story in such a short number of pages, and I'm always happy to spend time with Chih and Almost Brilliant. This one felt creepier than previous ones, but it worked for this reader!

I am still processing all of the emotions this book brought out, and I think this is one of those reads that will follow me for a while. It was beautifully written from the very start, and Winn kept it up until the last gut-wrenching page. It was clearly well researched without getting in the way of the actual story being told (it even had me reading articles about the public school junior officers that make up a large part of the cast). Just stunning in both how good it was and how much pain it inflicted on my heart. I love this book immensely, and I hope others will take the risk!
