Uncomfortable, beautiful, heartbreaking. Amazing prose that dig deep and require some processing.

The dance these two are doing with each other while we, the audience, sit with the delicious tension underlying the whole situation, is utterly delightful. Not my usual read but I am absolutely locked in.

I would die for that gargoyle, his storyline stole the show 👏🏽 overall this was a very enjoyable and fast paced read with lots of twists and turns. Can’t wait for the second book!

This year I plan on reading a classic novel every month and I'm seeing if anyone else has a similar goal and/or wants to do a buddy read or two with me this year. My tentative list so far is: Jan - The Gilda Stories Feb - The Picture of Dorian Gray (doing a buddy read with @one_crazy_eliott if anyone wants to join) March - Beloved April - Carmilla May -The Monk June - The Color Purple July - Kindred Aug - Giovanni's Room Sept - Frankenstein Oct - The Divine Comedy (pray 4 me) Nov - The Left Hand of Darkness Dec - Notes of a Crocodile
Is anyone else planning on reading more classics this year? Any tips on getting through some of the more complicated ones? Also, are there are other queer classics I'm not think of that I should prioritize? Thank you in advance!

Hi, I want to read at least one book from all countries that are UN-acknowledged + some more.
I have already finished at least one book from Australia, Canada, Finland, Ireland, Norway, the UK and the USA. I would love to find books from other countries, too. The book doesn't need to be set in a specific country; the book needs to be written by an author from (and preferably living in) the country.
Currently, I want to read books from different countries, so I don't really count authors who have backgrounds other than where they live. For example, if a Nigerian author wrote a book, but was born in and is currently living in the USA, I would count that as a book from the USA. Most of the books I read are from the USA or UK, therefore I want to broaden my horizon (hope this makes sense).
If you have a favourite book from your country, or know of a book from another country, I would love to hear about it, but they have to be translated into English for me to be able to read them 🥰
Update: I have now started a list: https://pagebound.co/lists/8022bb22-c915-4a50-96c4-d00f9e893430 inspired by @marklammers98
