I was recently recommended The Gales Of November by John U Bacon about the sinking of the Edmund Fitzgerald when I was looking for a book that felt like Looking Glass’ Brandy. I haven’t read it yet but it’s at the top of my TBR.

Ooohh this is such a cool idea l love it! Might I suggest salt to the sea by Ruta Supetys?

2

I'm keeping this list specific to nonfiction books, but I might do a fiction one and this will definitely be on it!

2

What about The Wager by David Grann or A Marriage At Sea by Sophie Elmhirst? They might be a good fit.

2

adding both, thank you!

I’d like to suggest The Zorg: A Tale of Greed and Murder That Inspired The Abolition of Slavery by Siddharth Kara. It’s both haunting and powerful. Highly recommend!

2

This is perfect, thank you!

This is such a cool list! I have a 0% overlap, but hopefully that'll change! Instant save 🤭

2

I’m always drawn to ocean based stories, I hope you enjoy!

I learned how to Sail a few years back and “Swell: A Sailing Surfer's Voyage of Awakening” is a nonfiction book about a 22 y/o woman who decides to sail solo & ends up making a 20,000 mile trip that was a really enjoyable read.
