I love the covers of the books in this list!!
I was thinking about making a fiction by indigenous authors list and then saw that you already have a really good list! A few others that I can think of. (Forgive me if they're on the list but I didn't see them.)
Danica Nava's books The Truth According to Ember and Love is a War Song would be good rom-com additions.
Nick Medina's The Whistler is another horror novel.
I loved Melissa Blair's Halfling Saga (first book The Broken Blade), which the author wrote to answer the questions, "What would romantasy series I loved be liked if they reckoned with colonialism and reconciliation?" Ramona Emerson's mystery/crime series starting with Shutter.
Never Whistle at Night is getting a sequel! It's out in August. Very excited to add to my plan this fall :)
I’m so pumped for the sequel, I was giggling at work when the cover dropped
i love this list and can’t wait to look into these :) i do want to add that the serviceberry is nonfiction!
Oh, that’s my bad! I’ll take it off!
no worries at all!!! ty for making this list, so many good recommendations in here!
I hope you find something you like in here!
If you're open to suggestion these would be great additions to your list!
Bad Cree by Jessica Johns Five Little Indians by Michelle Good full-metal indigiqueer: poems by Joshua Whitehead The Only Good Indians by Stephen Graham Jones
I’ll add them!
Not sure if you're open to YA, but I think Elatsoe by Little Badger could be a great addition!
I’ll add it!
I want to read more books from indigenous authors, so this list is perfect! If you're taking recs, I suggest Kukum by Michel Jean. It takes place in Québec and the author is Innu. I believe there is an English translation out there too!
I just added it to the list! There is an English translation listed in the editions, but unfortunately I don’t get to choose the edition when I add books to this list
Awesome, ty!
May I suggest The Buffalo Hunter Hunter by Stephen Graham Jones and Waiting for the Long Night Moon by Amanda Peters? 🙂‍↕️
I have an indie add! Green Fuse Burning by Tiffany Morris
Oh also anything by H. E. Edgmon! I think The Witch King is his most well-known, but Godly Heathens would be a good one too :)
Added!
