Buddy read with my Daughter

From time to time I read something I can’t wait to either read to my kid, or have her read it herself. And since my memory ain’t what it used to be - here is a list of those books.

I am not aiming at any specific age, but I think the range is up to maybe late teens. 2026 she is two years old and we already read the Hobbit (comic) more than ten times 😍

Feel free to recommend anything you think I should read/add.

I love this! My mom reading to me every night until I was 8 or 9 is such a good memory. We read a lot of childrens classics (Anne of Green Gables, Wizard of Oz, The Secret Garden [which i have heard is pretty problematic now but did not clock that at age 8]) and it looks like you have a lot of fantasy on here. Along the lines of that and Howl's Moving Castle on your list, maybe you'd like Kiki's Delivery Service? I read it as an adult and loved it!

I added Kiki to my reading list :) I watched Anne as a kid, but never read the book. Same with the Wizard of Oz. I should give them a go.

The secret garden was never on our curriculum (EU) so I’ve learned about it later on. It doesn’t “call to me”, so to speak.

You're probably ok not having read it tbh. I enjoyed it as a child but read the synopsis recently to refresh my memory and lowkey was horrified. I hope you like Kiki! I believe a (book) sequel is coming out soon, 30+ years later!
