Try Being an Influencer for a Day (It's Hell)

Mikayla tried to warn us! Being an influencer IS hard! You have to work until 5:19 some days, open hundreds of PR packages, AND actually have to film those lucrative sponsorship videos but in these books, it's not just the influencer comment sections that become a blood bath! Don't forget to like, subscribe, and suggest more influencer horror/thrillers in honor of the hardest working people around! Mikayla tried to warn us LOL 💀💀💀💀

6

Every time I hear this meme I immediately say “because the people that say it’s easy, are so far out of their minds” in her fake boston accent 💀

4

This has been stuck in my brain for such a long time. Same with her divorce announcement. ☠️

2

I was trying so hard to figure out how to add "You're gunna want to sit down for this" to the description hahaha

For the record I don't like or dislike Mikayla - she is just very memeable haha

2

🤣🤣🤣 Love it! I was thinking of adding it to my comment but then I was like: no, they'll get me, lol

Same here. I actually didn't even know who she was for a very long time, lol. I found out about her through some YTubers who talked about her & her content and also made a bit of fun of her. And I kinda found it funny and also pretty absurd. 😭

2

@nenlindale, our favourite "excuse me" girl would feel very much home here!

(i think this is a joke you only understand if you watched certain videos by Sashka - a German youtuber)

3

HAHAHAHA “pick me dot com” would also book a stay here 🙂‍↕️🙂‍↕️ I love this so much and to everyone Sashka’s videos are a must

3

oh yes, let's send them all here! 🙂‍↕️

2

Wait, I love Sashka's videos. Though, tbh, I haven't watched her in a while, lol 🤭👀

2

we love our very punctual Sashka and Pflanzi 🙂‍↕️

2

Yes, we do! 😍🪴

2

Sunday, 6pm I sit in front of my YouTube homepage and wait for her video (the newest one is so good)

2

still have to watch that one!

1

Oh my god you guyssss come with me to read this new trendy book why am I scaredddd

3

this description is sooooo good

3

lolol thank you! I was giggling to myself the whole time hahahah

2

Great idea for a list! I think this is going to continue to be a popular theme for horror and thrillers, especially as more and more mommy vloggers' children grow up and write tell-alls. Along those lines, I'd like to suggest The Influencers by Anna-Marie McLemore, a mystery where an influencer's new husband has been murdered, and her now-grown children (some of whom are now also influencers) are among the suspects.

2

Ooooh I need to check that one out! Added to the list and my TBR!! Thank you!

And to add to your comment about this being a popular theme - this list was inspired by the fact that my mother and I are both independently reading different thriller/horror novels about influencers right now hahaha

2

Your lists are so funny - I love them.

2

You are so sweet!!! I am so glad y'all get my sense of humor hahaha

1

This is an incredible list and equally incredible reference. 😂

2

lolol thank you! I might be elderly compared to the majority of this app, but I do my best to keep up with the youths hahahah

2

Don't say that! I'm also in my 30s now. 😭😂

2

Is it sad that this actually made me think of Lightning McQueen lol "You too can look like me...ka...chow."

2

Sad? No. Iconic? YES!
