I have never read a Romantasy I have liked (all the power to those that love them, no hate). I was recommended this book by someone who shared the same sentiment but said they really liked this one.
Honestly? I loved it and will be continuing the series. The writing is well crafted. There aren't short. Stilted. Sentences. Used every other paragraph as the only way to annunciate something. The world/lore is integral to the characters and the characters are integral to the world.
The FMC can kick ass like no other and has a functioning brain. There's an actual enemies to lovers plot that doesn't involve romanticizing abusive or toxic traits. Overall, I really enjoyed it.

Okay why did I completely forget that Reaping Day is on July 4th?? Unless it wasn’t in the original trilogy? Either way, that’s a big statement (to have reaping day be on Independence Day) lol but it’s totally Suzanne Collins’ style
