I feel the need to express my gratitude for how this site celebrates community among readers! The internet is such a toxic place, but this site feels so wholesome.

I read 19 books this month, and will be filming my wrap up later today. In the meantime, let me know how August went for you! What did you read? Did you like it? What was the best/worst? Did you complete/work on any bookish challenges? Tell me everything.

As the title asks! Share what you're going to be reading from tomorrow. I'm taking Shoestring Theory into September, but the first new book I'll start will be When There Are Wolves Again by E.J. Swift.

What's a title that took you out of a reading slump? I'm in the biggest reading slump of my life rn, and I desperately need a book/series that'll pull me out of it. I've tried picking a random book from my TBR, but I never end up reading it, and this is a last dash attempt to get help. Any ideas?

I have no idea what I think of Stasia right now. I liked her at the start, I understand why she is the way she is and what she's been through, but then I didn't like her that much as the kids grew up. Why doesn't she make more effort with them? She's got all these traits as a strong, caring woman and she goes on these long, dangerous trips to find her husband wherever he may be stationed, in the middle of war, but she won't comfort or discuss Kitty's trauma? The "miscarriage"? What is that. She's so freaking lucky to have Christine who adores her kids and has raised them like her own and who cares, dotes and talks to them even when it's difficult. Which is so funny for me to say because I actually did not like Christine at the start! I also don't like that the narrator is a descendant of Kostya. Nooooo! I want a Kitty descendant to tell the story!
