I thought it would be kind of fun to see where in the world people are, and then folks can make friends with people from the same countries/areas (if they way, not pressure obviously).
I'll go first. I'm Canadian, and more specifically I am in British Columbia (Vancouver Island if you want to get fancy).
Try to find your country and join that thread!
Everyone else?

I found the first third of this book dull, the second third interesting, and the last third completely captivating. I didn’t see that twist coming at all. What a wonderful storyteller she is. Felt like a very important story for this moment in time too; though I don’t know if it was meant that way.

Do you ever revise your rating of a book?
If so, when and why? Is it if you reread or reflect on it after a time?
Relatedly, how long after finishing a book do you rate it? Straight away; or do you let it rest?
I ask because I can’t help but feel I’ve got my whole process all wrong.

Just wondering if there’s anyone on here who, post-school/graduation, has continued “taking classes” on their own. I’ve always loved learning new things and if I were an immortal I’d certainly spend as much time as possible taking random university classes. I’ve recently come across the idea of a “personal curriculum” and while that all seems a bit much for me at the moment, I was wondering if anyone has done something similar?
Particularly, what topics did you deep-dive in to for your own fun? How did you ensure you actually retained som of the knowledge you picked up (i.e. study tips lol)?
I have a ton of nonfiction I want to do this with and would love to hear others experiences if there are any 🫶🏼🫶🏼🫶🏼

Fellow nightowls - when you happen to read a book after midnight, do you consider it a read of the next day or of the previous day?

Fourth Wing is a five star read for me so I was giving the audiobook (regular, not the dramatized adaptation) a go. I’m 40% in and it’s coming across as a 3 star at best! Feels like a completely different experience, the characters are kind of annoying lol. Wish I could do the DA version but the sound effects are too distracting for me. Going to switch back to the physical book ♥️

I don’t get creeped out by books very easily. At all. But I have to admit, this one is doing a good job of giving me the creeps! 🫣
