i've got many people recommend this series to me, so I'm giving it a go, but I gotta say the first person POV + present tense feels soooo alien to me, I think I'm getting used to it, but still feels strange as fuck, especially coming after finishing Stormlight Archives lol, but decent premise

Okay, I like the story, as per usual, but the writing is so off-putting? It feels so casual, modern, and doesn’t make sense for a SLA book. It’s not like the epic fantasy that I’ve grown used to these last 4 books.
