You walk into a bookstore and it’s full of her books. I genuinely don’t get it. Maybe I chose to read the wrong book, but I would never recommend this one. I kept waiting for that satisfying moment when everything makes sense and you realize the author was three steps ahead of you the whole time. It never happened. The plot twists feel random, and the coincidences are so forced that they completely pull you out of the story. The whole setup with the tenant situation had so much potential. Imo that could have been such a tense psychological thriller. Instead, the characters make no sense just to move the plot forward, and the “big reveals” rely on information that feels conveniently dropped in at the last second. I love thrillers. I get so excited to talk about endings that make you rethink everything you just read. But this felt messy. I wasn’t shocked, I was just annoyed. 🥲

Is Mona’s uncle’s name Alfred or Albert? I swear I’m seeing both in here. I can’t have missed a whole new character, right???
