Itās always hilarious to me when a book is heralded as a must read classic and it inevitably has the weirdest plot imaginable. Hereās this book about baby electroshock therapy, itās important for our society.

An overall cute and cozy story about a witch who just wants to cook and the army of loyal friends he accidentally makes along the way. It was definitely more in line with a slice-of-life plot line and felt a little bit dragged out at parts, but overall it was a refreshing read. If you're looking for a slightly comedic cozy fantasy, this book is for you!

I will say this book is starting to feel a bit dragged out. Maybe I need to take a break and come back to it because right now I'm a bit bored

Hello wonderful readers! I've been seeing several posts where people talk about reading books in languages other than English, and I was wondering where I could find such books! My third language is Japanese and I need to up my proficiency ASAP, so I figured I could start by reading books in Japanese. I'm having a hard time finding books that are reasonably priced though (at this point it might be cheaper for me just to fly over to Japan and buy books there), so I was wondering if anyone had recommendations for places I could find such books without making my wallet cry. I'm fine with either print or digital

I've started reading in the language I'm learning and I understand it pretty well, but would like to be able to read a little faster by not needing to think about what every word is in English. š
When do you go from reading and mentally translating into your native language to reading and understanding IN the language?
Do you have any tips for intermediate learners starting to read novels in the language they're studying?
I've started to take the approach of a sci-fi novel that starts out with a bunch of conlang and you figure out the words you don't know as you go, but I'd be curious to hear how others go about it!!

This was a wonderfully thought provoking read that also left me a bit scared of the dark at night. While the book does have a tendency to hit you over the head with the main message, it's just poignant enough to get away with it and still be enjoyable. If you're looking for a more classic horror, this may not be the book for you. But if you enjoy a nice societal critique dressed in the trappings of a queer horror novel, I would highly recommend this book.

This is the first litrpg I have ever read and wow is it fun! I was pleasantly surprised by the depth of the characters and the plot. Princess Donut carried me through the first few chapters of this book and then I did end up really coming to appreciate Carl's character. I am struggling with the comedy in this book. It is very clearly written by a man and fails to land most of the time for me.
I am looking forward to completing this book series! I already have the next one on hold from the library. The audiobooks are also a delight and worth checking out.

I'm waiting for this book to hook me, but it hasn't quite happened yet. Unsure if this series is for me unfortunately.

I'm so excited to deep my toes into Hobb's universe! I've heard a lot of good things and so far get "Ranger's Apprentice" Vibes. That was one of my favorite fantasy series as a kid, so I hope this is even better!
