A near perfect conclusion for a series I’ve adored since picking it up last year. Writing clunky and instantly dated in some parts (seeing *chefs kiss* written in print was a bit wild) but the plot was easy to follow and enjoyable from start to finish VIVA FOREVER ❤️

I can’t believe how quickly I’m reading this but also I’m just incredibly bored… No speech marks and little depth is making my brain read it like “agshshsjsidkdk” then having to re read it because it feels like I’m having to rush through it?! Debating on DNF-ing or just powering through to see if it’s worth the struggle 😅

Maybe just not what I was looking for. Surprisingly the nonexistent quotation marks weren't much of a big deal for me as the writing style. Just.... No. That said, while Marianne and Connell are not supposed to have any redeemable qualities, I would not want to spend time with a Connell irl simply because I have, and it's just exhausting to be with. Similarly, that's how I feel with the book.

A beautifully written novel which exceeded my expectations and completely surprised me on how the story was played out. I felt lost in the world of Evelyn Hugo & she’s a character that will stick with me for a while. Glad to have finally read this book and understand why everyone loves it so much. Brava!

When you rate a book, do you rate it based on how you liked it, or how good you think the book actually is by literary standards? One of the things I love most about Pagebound is the ability to break down the rating into separate categories. I particularly like the 'quality' and 'enjoyment' ratings. A lot of times, I dislike a book, but can also acknowledge that the book is very well written, I just didn't click with it. I tend to give books I dislike a bog standard 3 star, as to say i didn't like it but it wasn't a bad book. tbh I feel bad rating any book low because of how much work goes into writing a book and how creative authors are. Do you do the same? Or are y'all more brutal?

Beautifully written, very funny at some parts and then heartbreaking the next. Glad I picked up! If you’re after a slice of life book about love, grief and routine - then this is the book for you

I honestly have no idea how this is going to end but I have a feeling I’m going to be sobbing at the end of it… 103 pages to go!

Eye opening and taught me a lot about the Vietnam War which I didn’t know much about before this book. Frankie is a brilliant protagonist and has a believable (albeit heartbreaking) storyline. Ethel and Barb were brilliant too. However some writing was a bit off for me which threw me out of the story slightly. I also found that some key points were glossed over and minor plot points had more focus.
