  • Tell me your weird bookish habits 👀

We all have a weird habit when it comes to reading, I know we do! For example, my sister will read the last page/chapter first to see if she's interested enough to know how they ended up there before spending days reading a book she doesn't like. (DIABOLICAL IF YOU ASK ME!)

Me? Well, I'm a strictly kindle girly (unless I go to the library) and I ABUSE the search function. A name I don't remember? Searching it. A place? Searching it. Random object that might have been mentioned in chapter 2? Searching it!! Quotes that are repeated? Searching them to see what context it was said in the last 2 times. I've accidentally spoiled things for myself so many times. But as an ADHD girly with the smallest little pea brain, I cannot stop using the search button 💀

Tell me your weird bookish habits or things other people would find diabolical 😅

I have not been enjoying this series, but at least this one is funnier than the rest. Really not getting all the hype behind them 🤔

The Plans I Have for You

The Plans I Have for You

    Lai Sanders

Feminine rage, cancel culture, and suffocating societal pressure—a cutting and brazen thriller about two Asian American women on a quest for revenge after a public shaming pushes them to the limit, for fans of Yellowface and Counterfeit. When a conflict with a fellow passenger on the subway spirals into a humiliating breakdown, Shelley Hu’s life is over. The incident goes viral, costing Shelley her prestigious Manhattan law firm internship, her spot at Columbia Law, and her plan to build a better life for herself and her mother. Months later, Shelley is back in Kissimmee, Florida, working the night shift at a kitschy motel near Disney World—the very same job she held in high school. Shelley’s life is a black hole until, one night, the beautiful, enigmatic Sophia Moon checks in with her husband and young son. But Sophia’s appearance is far from random. It turns out that, once upon a time, Sophia suffered her own episode of public shaming. Since then, Sophia has rebuilt a new life, and she promises to help Shelley do the same. More importantly, Sophia vows to help Shelley enact revenge on the three people responsible for the worst day of her life with a precise set of plans. Shelley returns to New York with a new identity and plans that start off well. But when the situation soon spirals out of control, Shelley is forced to reckon with Sophia’s unspeakably dark side—though it may be too late.

    The Mad Wife

    The Mad Wife

    Meagan Church

From bestselling author Meagan Church comes a haunting exploration of identity, motherhood, and the suffocating grip of societal expectations that will leave you questioning the lives we build―and the lies we live.  They called it hysteria. She called it survival. Lulu Mayfield has spent the last five years molding herself into the perfect 1950s housewife. Despite the tragic memories that haunt her and the weight of exhausting expectations, she keeps her husband happy, her household running, and her gelatin salads the talk of the neighborhood. But after she gives birth to her second child, Lulu's carefully crafted life begins to unravel. When a new neighbor, Bitsy, moves in, Lulu suspects that something darker lurks behind the woman's constant smile. As her fixation on Bitsy deepens, Lulu is drawn into a web of unsettling truths that threaten to expose the cracks in her own life. The more she uncovers about Bitsy, the more she questions everything she thought she knew―and soon, others begin questioning her sanity. But is Lulu truly losing her mind? Or is she on the verge of discovering a reality too terrifying to accept? In the vein of The Bell Jar and The Hours, The Mad Wife weaves domestic drama with psychological suspense, so poignant and immersive, you won't want to put it down.
