Hello y'all basgiath baddies! It's the faithful scholar who tallied all the mentions of how fragile Violet is, how tiny she is, memorable phrases and the amount of ellipses. I skipped tallying the second book because I was so absorbed and just sped through it too fast on vacation. I am about to start reading Onyx Storm and wanted to ask for your wisdom:
What other stats and phrases would you like to be tallied?
Tairn for example always banks left, he barely ever banks right, in case you haven't noticed yet. Maybe some Andarna related things? Xaden being mad for a reasonable reason?
Excited to hear the things you noticed often while reading Onyx Storm and wondered how often they occure! Let me know all the little things!

Christie does such a good job of writing characters/interactions that are supposed to be taking place in French! Obviously she was fluent, but what she does is more difficult than either a direct translation (sounds clunky and is hard to understand) or how books are normally translated (made to sound like they were originally written in the language they’re being translated to). She uses expressions, cadence, and words that are normal and comprehensible in English, but also are more common in French than English. It gives it a distinct style, and is super cool! I’m not sure if this makes sense to anyone else, or if anyone else picks up on this, but it’s just another mark of her talent IMO.
